COLORED GLEE CLUB, on 16 February 1928. They recorded at Atlanta under the credit I. C. GLEE QUARTET on 18 March 1929 for OKeh. One title, I’M GOING HOME ON THE CHICASAW TRAIN, may be semi-biographical. “Chicasaw” may refer to the territory of the Chickasaw Indian tribe, formerly of Mississippi and Alabama. The group also recorded as by I. C. GLEE QUARTET at New York City on 23 October 1930 for OKeh. RIDING ON THE SEMINOL (sic) may be semi-biographical, as “The Seminole” was the popular name given to a Florida train.
