(sanctified gospel choir) is the reported credit used by a Church of God in Christ choir. The credit INSTITUTIONAL RADIO CHURCH CHOIR OF GOD AND CHRIST, BROOKLYN, N. Y. was used by Hob, recorded in about 1967. The group recorded WHEN TROUBLE COMES (Hob #164/ LP #279) during 1967. They then recorded “Gospel Blessed With Soul”, including STRETCH OUT (WHEN TROUBLE COMES) for ATLANTIC LP #(SD)R 008 on 6 September 1967. Rev. Carl E. Williams was featured by LP #R 008 as preacher; Alfred White was organist; and the choir was conducted by J. C. White. The credit INSTITUTIONAL CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST was used by ATLANTIC in 1967. A similar group recorded “Grace” (ATLANTIC LP #(SD)R 021) in 1968. John Hason was featured as lead singer of the choir for “Grace”. The group recorded under the credit INSTITUTIONAL CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST CHOIR in 1969 for KING #6256, produced by Richard Simpson.
